If the goal of the game is to build your four Ace piles, then, logically, you have to get as many of the cards out as possible. That means uncovering the cards in the deepest piles. There are two ways to do this:

• If you have a King you can get to in your hand -- and only if you have a King you can get to -- then opening a space for the king when you get a chance, because that gives you two card moves for the price of one
• If you don't have that King, turning a card from a deep pile, rather than one of the piles with only one or two cards in it
