StuffIKnowAboutFood > Long Island Iced Tea
The secret about a Long Island Iced Tea is that it includes every single clear liquor in the bartender's well (well, west of the Rockies, anyway; east of those mountains, the tequila is usually omitted from the recipe below).
In a Collins (tall, thin) glass, filled with ice, build:
- 1/2 oz. of Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Light Rum
- 1/2 oz. Triple Sec
- 1 1/2 oz. Sweet & Sour
- Fill w/Coke
To make an Adios Motherfucker, substitute Blue Curacao for the Triple Sec and 7 Up for the Coke (you can just order an "Adios" if you chicken out on the whole name).
To make a Tokyo Iced Tea, substitute Midori for the Triple Sec and 7 Up for the Coke (typically, any recipe that substitutes Midori for Triple Sec is called "nuclear", so the Tokyo apellation is in a bit of bad taste here). Girls tend to like the Tokyo Iced Tea!
