One thing that most people do poorly is valuing the cards in their hands. There are three ways to value cards, in order of importance:

1. High, Middle, and Low
2. Winners and Losers
3. Ordinal value

Note, particularly, that the ordinal value of the cards is quite the least important of the three. If you learn to think of cards in each of these three ways, in order, you'll play much better.
